The maple neck has a fairly chunky and full C profile that has a bit more depth than an electric Fender neck of the era, while still playing very comfortably. The veneer rosewood fretboard has pearl dot inlay and original fretwire that's in near mint condition. The neck has 20 nickel steel frets with 14 clear of the body, and the frets have been dressed and crowned. The guitar has Fender's traditional 25 1/2″ scale length, with a 7 1/4″ fretboard radius, and 1 5/8″ nut width. The truss rod is responsive, the relief in the neck is ideal, and the headstock sports the original chrome “F” tuning machines which work as they should.
